    Speedway Is Highest Ranked Gasoline Brand in America

    Petroleum marketer comes out on top of Harris poll.

    ENON, Ohio -- For the third year in a row, gasoline brand in the nation, according to the prestigious Harris Poll EquiTrend survey of more than 25,000 consumers.

    This year's ranking resulted in Speedway being named the 2011 Harris Poll EquiTrend Retail Gasoline Brand of the Year. "Speedway is honored to once again be named the Highest Ranked Gasoline Brand," said Tony Kenney, president of Speedway LLC. "This award truly belongs to the 17,000 Speedway employees throughout our company, who constantly strive to be the very best in the business."

    The annual study asks consumers to rank brands in a variety of categories. In addition to being named the 2011 Harris Poll EquiTrend Retail Gasoline Brand of the Year, Speedway was ranked highest in specific categories such as quality and trust.

    The official presentation of the 2011 Harris Poll EquiTrend Retail Gasoline Brand of the Year trophy will be May 17 at Speedway's headquarters here. The company plans an extensive companywide celebration during the coming months to recognize the continuing efforts of Speedway employees at every level. During July, television commercials will feature company employees thanking customers for the award.

    "Speedway employees work hard every day to earn the trust of our customers," Kenney said. "Being named the highest ranked gasoline brand for the third year in a row is gratifying to all of us."

    Speedway LLC is the nation's fourth largest company-owned and -operated convenience store chain with approximately 1,350 stores located in seven states in the Midwest. Speedway is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp..
