U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. will launch Skoal Straight Pouches on Aug. 4, 2008, capitalizing on two strong growth trends in the moist smokeless tobacco (MST) category -- the straight taste profile and the portion pack form, according to the company. The company anticipates this product will attract smokers looking to move to smokeless tobacco, as its is neat, easier to use and more discreet, the company stated. Skoal Straight Pouches will be supported by Skoal's "Welcome to the Brotherhood" national integrated marketing campaign and will include advertising in adult-oriented magazines, adult sampling programs, direct mail, point-of-sale materials, pre-packed promotional displays and an age-verified web site, SkoalBrotherhood.com.
