R.E. Powell Distributing to Offer VP Racing Fuels

The fuel distributor will help develop VP branded fuel stations.

GRANDVIEW, Wash. -- R.E. Powell Distributing Co. has teamed up with VP Racing Fuels Inc. to offer its fuels to 300 dealer-operated convenience stores and gas stations in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Specifically, the VP Racing Fuels brand will be another fuel product available for distribution by R.E. Powell.

"As R.E. Powell partners with VP's team, I am confident this new program will be a success for the dealer who is looking for differentiation as well as our company, which is looking to provide the best solutions to each of our [retailer] customers," said Justin Christensen, R.E. Powell's director of marketing and sales.

Christensen added that VP Racing's well known brand, as well as its stellar credit card processing program were other reasons the deal was a no-brainer for R.E. Powell.

VP Racing Fuels said it was interested in the partnership because R.E. Powell is a highly respected fuel distributor. "We're equally excited to count R.E. Powell among our dedicated family of marketers nationwide who work tirelessly to develop VP branded fuel stations," said Bryan Noonen, VP Racing's regional manager-branded wholesale business. "R.E. Powell's professionalism and knowledge of the marketplace is unmatched and we look forward to continued growth and success."

R.E. Powell was founded in 1935 and is under the Powell-Christensen Inc. umbrella. Other companies under the Powell-Christensen name include General Transport, Amerifuel, Ameristar, Ameriwash and Ameristorage.

VP Racing Fuels is best known for fueling vehicles in virtually all motorsports on land, sea and air.

As CSNews Online previously reported, VP Racing also recently added a "Fuel Cage" program for convenience stores. The VP Fuel Cage is designed around a heavy metal cage, similar to propane fuel tank cages, and stocks five-gallon pails of VP's leaded and unleaded race fuel blends.
