QuikTrip, Fas Mart Add Rev7 Removable Chewing Gum

The degradable, waste-reducing gum is now available at more than 450 U.S. retail chains.

CHICAGO -- QuikTrip and Fas Mart convenience store chains have added Revolymer's Rev7 Gum to their shelves. The removable, degradable gum now has day-to-day retail distribution at more than 450 U.S. retail chains, including California-based Unified Stores, and more than 4,000 stores, according to the company.

"We are delighted that QuikTrip, Fas Mart and Unified have joined our growing list of retail chains that have the product in their planogram," said Chris Tamillo, vice president of sales and marketing. "To put the positive environmental impact of Rev7 into context, the disposal of one pack of conventional chewing gum has the same environmental impact as one plastic bag -- which, in the U.S. alone, equates to over 20 billion plastic bags of pollution from gum every year. Rev7 gum offers a solution to this issue with its unique degradability."

Rev7 was designed to discourage waste and does not get hard or stiff during consumption, the company said. Once discarded, the gum will disintegrate into a fine powder using mild water and agitation.

"Revolymer is going from strength to strength, rapidly expanding in the U.S., and we will continue looking to introduce the product to Europe in 2012," said Roger Pettman, Revolymer's chairman and CEO. "We recently received the final approval to market Rev7 in Europe, making it the first new gumbase ingredient for over 30 years."
