Gulf Introduces Pink Ribbon Gift Card

Fundraising effort will generate up to $25,000 annually.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Gulf Oil LP is going pink.

The company's Pink Ribbon Gift Card is a new initiative for the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation that will generate up to $25,000 a year to help fight breast cancer.

For every Pink Ribbon Gift Card purchase valued at $50 or more, Gulf will make a $1 donation to the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program.

"From day one, the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation has been dedicated to contributing much-needed funds for breast cancer research and awareness programs," said Rick Dery, senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer for Gulf. "We are passionately doing our part to help eradicate this disease once and for all. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the Pink Ribbon Gift Card so they can join with us in winning this important battle."

Pink Ribbon Gift Cards are available for purchase at thousands of local Gulf stations across the country. The prepaid card, available in denominations from $5 to $250, can be used at Gulf-branded locations across the company's 28-state service area.

The new gift card campaign is just part of Gulf's commitment to fighting breast cancer. The company recently raised more than $100,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer during Gulf's inaugural "Swing for Hope" charity golf event.

Founded in 2006, the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that supports breast cancer research and awareness Programs. The foundation is a National Tier II Sponsor of American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
