CINCINNATI — Thanks to fuel points combined with the current low price of gasoline in many parts of the country, Kroger Co. customers are paying less than a dollar to gas up their cars.
In a new sweepstakes running through the month of February, consumers can enter for a chance to win free fuel for a month by sharing photos of their fuel savings at Kroger fuel centers that answer the question: "How Low Can You Go?"
Participants in the "How Low Can You Go?" fuel sweepstakes can post photos to Kroger's Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts using the hashtag #FuelPointsSweeps.
“Take a photo that represents your fuel savings from Kroger, Gerbes, Dillons, Baker’s, Smith’s, King Soopers, City Market, Fry’s, QFC, Food 4 Less, or Foods Co; you might choose to photograph your receipt showing your fuel points, you jumping for joy, or anything else related to your savings,” the retailer stated in the official contest rules.
Forty-four winners will be randomly selected to each win a $200 gift card.
"Customers are seeing prices at the pump that we haven't seen in years," said Mike Donnelly, Kroger's senior vice president of merchandising. "Combine that with all the ways you can save on fuel at Kroger, and many of our customers are filling their tanks for less than a dollar per gallon at our pumps. Fuel points are one of the ways we say thank you to our loyal customers every day."
Cincinnati-based Kroger currently operates more than 2,000 fuel center locations in 37 states.
