GasBuddy Introduces Gas Savings Program

BOSTON — GasBuddy, the tech company that operates apps and websites that help people locate low gasoline prices, unveiled a new gas savings program called "Pay with GasBuddy."

According to the Boston-based company, Pay with GasBuddy is a payment service that gives a discount off every gallon of gas participating U.S. drivers purchase. Pay with GasBuddy is free to enroll and requires no credit application. The program, which works everywhere drivers happen to be, can save users up to $340 a year when used with the GasBuddy app.

The program is the first commercial product from GasBuddy following its partnership with corporate payment solutions provider WEX.

"Today, GasBuddy breaks new ground as a media company building its own proprietary, secure, federated payments network for the more than $315 billion spent on retail gasoline," said Walt Doyle, GasBuddy CEO. "The sheer scale and focus of our installed base of nearly 70 million drivers, combined with the value and convenience we’re delivering to the consumer, should make Pay with GasBuddy a very popular choice for U.S. motorists.

"Consumers have many options in their wallet, but only Pay with GasBuddy has been truly architected with the perfect pit stop in mind," Doyle continued.

Enrolled users are eligible for 15 cents off per gallon on their first purchase. For subsequent purchases, they stand to save at least 5 cents off per gallon.

For more information on how to enroll in the Pay with GasBuddy program, consumers can visit GasBuddy.com. There, they can download the GasBuddy app and connect a valid checking account. Once the consumer receives their GasBuddy card in the mail, they can activate it with a unique Driver ID and are then set to swipe the card at the pump to pay for gas.
