Retail Merchandiser to Host Health & Wellness Summit

NEW YORK -- The graying of America has boosted healthcare expenditures to nearly $2 trillion, according to the Department of Health & Human Services. The market for diet, nutrition, personal care and other products that nurture the mind, body and spirit of U.S. consumers is exploding.

Now there's a new venue that offers grocery, c-store, drug and mass retailers the opportunity to meet with key suppliers in these growing product categories and to discuss how to maximize the potential of the health, wellness and self-care movement -- the all-new Health & Wellness Summit '04.

This supplier/retailer meeting starts with a cocktail reception on Oct. 24 and is followed on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. by an intense day and a half of pre-scheduled, 20-minute, one-on-one appointments between retailers and suppliers of health, beauty care, food and beverages.

Sponsored by Retail Merchandiser in cooperation with Progressive Grocer and Convenience Store News, the Health & Wellness Summit '04 is being held at the Sonesta Coconut Grove Resort in Miami.

Patterned after the successful Dollar Store Summit, an event aimed at extreme value retailers, the Health & Wellness Summit also includes networking lunches and cocktail receptions as well as educational sessions, including a look at a new ACNielsen study on product labeling and a session entitled, "Care & Culture," which looks at the different health and wellness needs of multicultural consumers.
