* The Kroger Co. has promoted William T. Boehm to senior vice president of the company and president of Kroger Manufacturing. He succeeds Geoffrey J. Covert, senior vice president, who is on special assignment in retail operations and remains an officer of the company.
Boehm previously served as group vice president of logistics, a position he had held since 2001. He is now responsible for overseeing all of the company's food processing operations. Mr. Boehm joined Kroger in 1981 as director of economic research and commodity analysis.
In addition, Kroger has promoted Kevin M. Dougherty to group vice president of logistics. He is now responsible for the company's nationwide logistics network and supply chain operations, including distribution resources, transportation operations, capital management, facility planning and supply chain technology. Dougherty joined Kroger in 2001 as vice president, supply chain operations.
* PerformanceRetail, provider of Web-based merchandising and store operations software for the retail industry, has hired four new faces with more than 80 years of combined experience in their respective fields.
Mike Dreggors, former vice president of sales for Pinnacle Corp., has joined the company as vice president of convenience retail sales. Dreggors will head PerformanceRetail's convenience retail sales and strategic account acquisition efforts, bringing with him more than 20 years of convenience retail store operations and merchandising experience.
The company also named Howard Hyche, former professional services manager for Pinnacle, its new director of pre-sales. He will lead PerformanceRetail's pre-sales efforts in the convenience retail market. Hyche brings 18 years of experience in convenience retail, having spent the last 10 years at Pinnacle in a variety of roles.
Mike Ducatelli, former director of sales for the retail business unit at Lawson Software, joined the company as vice president, general retail. Ducatelli will lead PerformanceRetail's expanded customer acquisition efforts across the grocery, drugstore, general merchandise and specialty retail markets.
In addition, John Penver joined the company as chief financial officer. Penver brings over 20 years of experience in public and pre-public companies to PerformanceRetail. He joins the company from Factory Logic Inc., a venture capital-backed provider of enterprise production management software, where he served as chief financial officer.
* Cadbury Schweppes Americas appointed Charles J. Alfaro to the newly created position of vice president-corporate communication for the Cadbury Schweppes confectionery and beverage businesses in the Americas. A veteran communications professional, Alfaro was most recently with Hoffman-La Roche Inc. (Roche) pharmaceuticals, where he served as executive director of corporate and business communications.
