New Sports Drink Aimed at Joint Repair

The isotonic features a shellfish-derived substance found to reduce the pain of arthritic joints.

Tuff Guyz Corp., based in Park City, Utah, is adding a new sports drink to it lineup that's aimed not only at hydrating athletes, but repairing their joints as well.

Unlike conventional isotonics, Tuff Guyz High Performance Sports Drink + contains glucosamine and chondroitin. Recently, clinical trials found the shellfish-derived substance significantly reduces the pain of arthritic joints, and may be more effective and better for you than commonly-used painkillers.

Company vice president James Stone said they worked very hard to create a winning combination of great taste, a blast of vitamins, nutraceuticals and no salty aftertaste.

"Rip-Tear & Repair" is the tag-line for the new sports drink, which company officials hope will take a bite out of Gatorade and Powerade’s shelf space and market share.
