Isis Offering Incentive for Mobile Wallet Use

NEW YORK -- Isis Mobile Wallet is offering consumers in its tests markets an incentive to try out its mobile payment application (app). As of July 10, the mobile wallet venture from AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon has been offering a $100 Amazon gift card to users who add a credit card to their near-field communication (NFC) wallet.

As CSNews Online previously reported, the Isis Mobile Wallet made an October debut in two cities – Salt Lake City and Austin, Texas. If it is successful, Isis is expected to expand its NFC-based service to other cities throughout the United States. To use the application, consumers download the Isis Mobile Wallet app from Google Play, load an eligible American Express, Capital One or Chase credit card into the mobile wallet, and then visit a participating retailer who accepts the payment service.

Promotional e-mails are being sent to customers in the test markets who have activated an Isis Mobile Wallet. Users must add a participating credit card and make their first purchase using their Isis Mobile Wallet to receive an e-mail that has a code to receive the $100 Amazon gift card.

"Add your existing credit card and use your Wallet to charge purchases directly to your account. You'll get the same benefits like points or miles that you would if you were using a physical card," the e-mail states, according to a post on Droid Life.

Customers can use their Isis Mobile Wallet anywhere they see a contactless symbol or at any participating stores and restaurants, including Maverik Inc. convenience stores in Salt Lake City.
