FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The Cumberland Gulf Group selected Ari N. Haseotes to serve as CEO of the locally based company. He succeeds Lily Bentas, who has been acting CEO and will continue in her role as chairman of the board.
Haseotes is the grandson of founders Vasilios and Aphrodite Haseotes. He began working for the company nearly 12 years ago, most recently serving as president and group chief operating officer and also as a member of the board of directors.
"Ari has worked for years at all levels of the company, contributing in significant ways to the continued growth and success of our iconic brands," Bentas said. "He is perfectly positioned to lead both businesses and continue the tradition of superior customer service, innovation and commitment to excellence that has led us to be one of the most successful privately-held companies in the country."
Haseotes' career with Cumberland Gulf began in the Cumberland Farms marketing department in 2003. In 2005, he was appointed to the position of vice president of strategic planning and business development in the Cumberland Farms finance department and became a member of the board.
He was named vice president of marketing in 2007, and served in that position until his promotion to president and COO in 2008. He was appointed president and group COO of Cumberland Gulf in 2013.
Haseotes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Boston College and a Master's of Business Administration from Harvard University.

The Cumberland Gulf Group includes Cumberland Farms, a Northeast convenience store chain, and Gulf Oil LP. Cumberland Farms operates approximately 600 stores. Gulf Oil distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and more than 130 other supply points.
