Three C-Store Chains Named in Top 100 Retailers

NEW YORK -- According to the 2004 Top 100 Retailers ranking sponsored by Triversity, released in STORES magazine, the official publication of the National Retail Federation, 7-Eleven, The Pantry and Casey’s General Stores rank among the Top 100 Retailers in 2004.
The report is an annual snapshot of the retailing industry, ranking companies by revenues, and grouping them on one chart regardless of the segment, or segments, in which they operate. A list of the Top 100 Retailers is published in the July issue of STORES magazine.

"This year, the only certainty is uncertainty for retailers," said Rick Gallagher, STORES publisher and NRF Vice President. "Retail competition has reached a new level where stores must constantly evaluate business models and consumer trends to attract and retain their customers."

The rankings are as follows:

7-Eleven, 28
The Pantry, 72
Casey's General Stores, 83

The top five, in ranked order, are Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Kroger, Target and Costco.
