Maverik Seeks Treasure in Idaho's Treasure Valley

NORTH SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Maverik Inc. is setting its sights on the Treasure Valley region of Idaho, with plans to invest up to $50 million in the area during the next few years.

In the near term, the convenience retail chain has tapped four Treasure Valley locations for new convenience stores in Boise, Meridian and Nampa.

The Nampa store is slated to open this year, while the Meridian location's opening is slated for later this year or early 2017, according to the Idaho Statesman. Maverik expects to welcome customers to its two new convenience stores in Boise in 2017.

In addition, the retailer will shutter three locations in Boise. Maverik will also rebuild two stores in the Idaho capitol and remodel a third over the next two years, the report noted.

"Finally, we are actively looking for additional sites throughout the Treasure Valley, on which to locate future Maverik stores,” the company said in an email to the news outlet.

North Salt Lake City-based Maverik operates more than 274 convenience stores in 10 western states.
