Harper Oil Switches to Marathon Gasoline

As Chevron pulls out of the market, the chain will switch to the new brand this spring.

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Harper Oil Products is switching from being a distributor of Chevron gas products to Marathon Oil exclusively, according to a report on Cincinnati.com. The move is being forced by Chevron's decision to leave the Kentucky market, and Harper chose to partner with Houston-based Marathon Oil, the report stated.

Harper Oil operates eight stores throughout Northern Kentucky, and the company has had a relationship with Chevron for 55 years. While it will no longer sell Chevron gasoline, the company will still sell Chevron and Petro-Canada-branded lubricants, and will also exclusively sell wholesale Marathon gas products in the region for other stations, according to the report.

Chevron is scheduled to be out of the market by July, and the switch to Marathon will occur over the spring.
