LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Al Trotta joined b2b Solutions as a consulting partner, according to an announcement by the company's president, Steve Montgomery. Trotta holds more than 35 years of operational and marketing experience in the convenience store industry, gained in senior management roles for Cumberland Farms convenience stores, the company reported.
As division manager he was responsible for 136 locations in the Northeast and New York markets, and his responsibilities included managing the daily operations; maximizing return-on-investment; profit and loss; increasing sales; reducing inventory losses; workforce planning; and short and long term goal setting for his division.
Previously he held the position of corporate marketing manager where he was the driving force behind developing many successful marketing programs, the company reported. In this role, his specific duties not only included the day-to-day operations of the marketing department, but also oversaw the buying for the distribution center, negotiated vendor contracts and developed affective marketing communication techniques.
Two of his major accomplishments in developing consistent merchandising programs were to establish a point-of-sales department and a merchandising division.
"Al has a long and very successful history in the industry as a retailer," Montgomery said in a released statement. "b2b Solutions is extremely proud to be able to make his expertise available to our retailer and supplier clients."
