    Flying J Adds Two Stores

Despite the company's chapter 11 filing late last year, network expansions go on as planned.

OGDEN, Utah -- Flying J opened one new location earlier this month in Red Deer, Alberta and will open another dealer site in Jarrell, Texas, tomorrow.

Flying J opened the Red Deer store off Highway 2 & 11 March 3. It sits where a former Flying J cardlock once stood, and provides guests with five commercial diesel lanes, 12 gasoline lanes, one RV lane, 26 parking spaces, four private showers, drivers’ lounge, an ATM, Scan & Go kiosk, overnight truck parking, truck propane and a hot/cold deli, the company stated.

Meanwhile, the Sonterra Travel Center in Jarrell, Texas will open March 10, 2009. The location is 25 miles from the Texas state capital, off Interstate 35 and 1710 North. This location will offer guests an assortment of eating options including Denny’s, Burger King and a local quick-serve eatery offering pizza, salads and deli sandwiches, according to the company.

Drivers will have access to eight commercial diesel lanes, three RV lanes, 20 gasoline lanes, eight private showers, 140 truck parking spaces, laundry facilities, an ATM, drivers’ lounge, money wire service, scales, an RV dump and many other services.
