NEW YORK -- Convenience Store News has launched its first ever Store Design Contest.
The awards are based on the entire design, including: interior layout, use and design of signage and logos, the exterior of the store, property and landscaping, as well as before and after sales results.
Retailers and designers nationwide can submit entries to be judged by a panel of industry and retail experts in three budget categories and one new construction category, allowing all budgets ranging from meager to substantial to be recognized on the same level.
The awards will recognize stores with the most exciting, innovative and shopper-friendly designs based on these categories:
--Best Original Store Design, where the store must be a new-build.
--Best Remodel on a Shoestring, where costs must not exceed $50,000.
--The Big Budget Remodel, where budgets can range from $50,000 to $250,000.
--"The Sky's the Limit" Remodel, where budgets exceed $250,000.
All stores entered must have been built or remodeled since January 2005.
Winners will be featured in the Aug. 28 issue of Convenience Store News, as well as the Web site CSNews Online.
Entry forms appeared in the May 8 issue of CSNews and are available at: www.csnews.com/csnews/images/pdf/CSNDesignContestRulesEntryForm.pdf
