    Cenex, Cabela's to Give Away $10K in Free Gas

    The brands' partnership is also chosen as a finalist for a COLLOQUY Loyalty Award.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. -- CHS Inc.'s Cenex convenience store brand and outdoor specialty retailer Cabela’s Inc. are joining forces to launch a $10,000 Summer Gas Giveaway.

    According to CHS, every Cabela's CLUB Visa cardholder who shops or has shopped at Cenex convenience stores from June 1 to Sept. 8 will be automatically entered to win free fuel.

    "We're giving away $10,000 in free fuel this summer to show our appreciation for outdoor enthusiasts who are loyal to Cabela's and who choose to make Cenex c-stores a part of their summer travel plans and daily routine," said Kayte Haaland, CHS' refined fuels brand marketing manager. "One winner will be selected every day to receive a $100 Cenex gift card -- that's a total of 100 winners and $10,000 in free fuel."

    CHS is promoting the giveaway via e-mails, snail mail and in-store displays at Cabela's stores. In addition, Cenex retailers have access to complimentary merchandising kits and local store marketing tools.

    In related news, the brands' partnership has been selected as a finalist in the third annual COLLOQUY Loyalty Awards, which honor the "most innovative, customer-committed Enterprise Loyalty initiatives worldwide."

    Cabela's was named a finalist for the Loyalty Innovation in Retail Award (North America) for its co-branded Cenex partnership. It will vie against Express and Indigo Books & Music in Canada for the award.

    Award voting began yesterday and continues through July 20. Voters must be COLLOQUY subscribers. Free subscriptions to the publishing, education and research resource owned by LoyaltyOne are available at www.colloquy.com.

    Winners will recognized during a ceremony on Sept. 12 in Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif.
