    C-store Chains Roll Out Ingenico Terminals

    WILCOHESS, Flash Foods, Tedeschi Food Shops among first to try new point-of-sale system.

    ARLINGTON, Texas -- C-store operators WILCOHESS, Flash Foods and Tedeschi Food Shops are among the first of The Pinnacle Corp.'s clients to complete full integration between the Pinnacle Palm POS and Ingenico’s line of advanced payment terminals.

    The integration effort offers the c-store operators electronic signature capture, business intelligence integration, contactless payment options and other benefits.

    "At WILCOHESS we believe that our implementation of the Ingenico platform will not only deliver a better customer experience, but significantly impact store costs." Ed Freels, CIO at Winston-Salem, N.C.-based WILCOHESS, said in a statement. "Signature capture allows us to no longer print the store receipt copy of the credit transaction. If we don’t print it, we don’t have to ship it. If we don’t have to ship it, we don’t have to store it. We save in all those cost areas. Additionally, Pinnacle’s EPM-30 will allow us to replicate any store credit receipt with signature at the home office, thus reducing charge-backs and time spent searching through thousands of other receipts."

    At Waycross, Ga.-based Flash Foods, CIO Jenny Bullard said she is excited about the benefits associated with the implementation of the Ingenico platform in the 180-store chain. "The PCI-compliant payment terminals fully integrate to our PCI-compliant Palm POS, allowing Flash Foods to provide a better customer experience with electronic signature capture, scrolling receipts and threshold signature amounts while reducing our cost and ensuring cardholder data security," she said. "We are also able to utilize the terminals to push out special promotions and information about Rewards in a Flash, our loyalty program."

    For retailers looking to reduce hardware footprints and associated costs, these terminals can replace the customer pole display on the POS, noted Denise Lewis, Palm POS product manager. "There is also the 'green' appeal -- consumers are thinking more about conservation and consciously choosing to do business with 'green' companies," she said. "Particularly in the petroleum industry, it is difficult to be seen by the public as an environmentally friendly company, but by implementing paperless credit transactions retailers have a visible, tangible way to promote that their organization is doing its part to conserve and protect our environment."
