MIAMI -- Burger King Corp. introduced a limited-time BK Toppers line of three cheeseburgers available at participating restaurants until Dec. 31.
The new burgers are offered in Deluxe Cheeseburger, Mushroom and Swiss Burger, and Western BBQ Cheeseburger varieties. The Deluxe Cheeseburger features American cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles and Stacker Sauce; the Mushroom and Swiss Burger includes mushrooms, Swiss cheese and griller sauce; and the Western BBQ Cheeseburger is topped with onion rings, American cheese and Sweet Baby Ray's Spicy BBQ sauce.
Each of the burgers weighs 3.2 ounces and has a suggested retail selling price of $1.99.
"We are always looking for ways to evolve our menu to better meet the needs of our guests with real, inspired food that tastes great," Alex Macedo, Burger's King's senior vice president of North America, said in a company-issued news release. "With our new line of savory, fire-grilled BK Toppers, we are giving our guests top-quality burgers with more beef that are freshly prepared with premium ingredients at a great value."
Burger King has already debuted a national television and radio advertising campaign to support BK Toppers.
The fast-food chain has made several changes since being purchased by 3G Capital in October 2010. Those changes included dethroning its iconic King character and placing a new emphasis on fresh and healthy food, with the launch of a new California Whopper a few weeks ago.
