    Baron-Huot Oil Co. Sells Its Retail Business to Mac's

    By divesting its 10 c-stores, the company will now focus on its wholesale operation.

    BRADLEY, Ill. – Baron-Huot Oil Co. reached an agreement with Mac’s Convenience Stores LLC, a division of Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., to sell its retail assets consisting of 10 convenience stores, all located in the Kankakee, Ill., market.

    Baron-Huot Oil Chairman Jerry Huot said this transaction reinforces his family’s commitment to the community and to superior customer service, which Couche-Tard’s Circle K brand will now provide at the 10 c-stores. Meanwhile, Baron-Huot Oil plans to focus on the wholesale portion of its business and the other active business interests the family owns.

    Baron-Huot Oil has been a family owned business since 1911.

    The seller was advised in the transaction by Terry Monroe of American Business Brokers in Effingham, Ill., and Bill Fecht of WJF Services Inc. in Normal, Ill.
