Chains and single stores will be recognized in six categories.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Convenience Store News is now accepting entries from both chains and single-store owners for its 2014 Store Design Contest. This annual program recognizes new and rebuilt convenience stores that excel in such areas as interior layout, use and effectiveness of signage and logos, and exterior property and landscaping.

Awards will be presented separately to chains and single stores in six categories, based on the scope/cost of the project and the overall look of the store. Entries will be accepted through July 1 and must include a handling fee of $125 for chains and $75 for single stores.

To be eligible for this year's contest, new construction or remodeling must have taken place between January 2013 and February 2014. Winners will be selected based on innovation, creativity and the positive impact of the design and/or remodel on the retailer's overall business.
