7-Eleven Takes Over Six Virginia Stores

ROANOKE, Va. -- 7-Eleven Inc. has inked a deal to operate six convenience stores in Roanoke and Salem.

The locations operated as Apple Market convenience stores, but as a result of the agreement with Workman Oil Co. of Forest, the Dallas-based retailer will begin converting the locations this week, according to The Roanoke Times.

Two of the stores are located in Roanoke and the remaining four are in Salem. 7-Eleven has offered jobs to existing workers who are qualified, the news outlet reported, and the locations are slated to be offered for franchising down the line.

The 7-Eleven chain already has seven stores in Roanoke. Workman Oil Co. is the operator of more than 40 c-stores under the Apple Market banner in central and southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky.
