    Wincor Nixdorf Launches Mobile Wallet

The smartphone product will debut at next week’s NRF Convention.

AUSTIN, Texas – Wincor Nixdorf will enter the crowded mobile wallet space, which allows consumers to make purchases from particular near-field communication (NFC)-enabled smartphones.

According to Wincor Nixdorf, the wallet is integrated into the TP Application Suite, the software platform for retail companies, and in the Service Station Suite for service station companies. The company added its Wincor Wallet provides an ideal platform for combining different mobile payment and loyalty solutions such as mobile use of debit or credit cards, mobile coupons or redeeming mobile vouchers at the checkout via smartphone.

A Wincor Nixdorf statement continued that the Wincor Wallet allows modern mobile wallet transactions to be processed in an information technology environment certified by the Payment Card Industry (PCI), which ensures the security of the cashless transactions.

Wincor Nixdorf will first unveil its new mobile wallet at next week’s National Retail Federation (NRF) Annual Convention and EXPO taking place in New York City.

"Retailers and service station companies thus have a platform that they can adapt individually to offer their customers optimum payment convenience and set themselves apart from the competition," said Jürgen Manske, Senior Solution Manager Retail at Wincor Nixdorf.

Wincor Nixdorf also allows modern mobile wallet transactions to be processed in an IT environment certified by the Payment Card Industry (PCI), which ensures the security of the cashless transactions, noted the company.

Wincor Nixdorf certainly faces plenty of competition in the mobile wallet space from Google, PayPal, Square, Merchant Customer Exchange, ISIS, and others.
