Weigel's Celebrates Opening of 60th Store

POWELL, Tenn. -- Weigel Stores Inc., the family-owned dairy and convenience store operator, announced the grand opening of its newest full-service Weigel's convenience store in Knoxville, Tenn. This location marks the 60th for the company.

"We've had many requests from the good folks in west Knoxville, and we're excited to have expanded our presence," said Bill Weigel, chairman and CEO.

The Choto Road store includes all Weigel's signature products and services, from in-store, scratch-made Bun-on-the-Run breakfast biscuits and Weigel's own Monkey Ice frozen drinks to its fresh-brewed Weigel's Kona coffee and flavored cappuccinos, as well as the brand's renowned Skim D'Lite milk.

The new store also features Weigel's no-surcharge ATMs for easy cash access for customers.

"We're all about convenience. And saving our customers money. Waiving the upfrontATM fee is our way of putting money back in our hard-working customers' pockets," Weigel added.

A special grand-opening celebration started this Monday and runs through this Sunday, July 1.

As CSNews Online previously reported, Weigel Stores recently hired a director of real estate to grow its footprint. Chris Ooten is responsible for guiding new site development, green building design, construction and maintenance solutions.
