Wayne Joins Mobile Payment Effort at Maverik Pumps

SALT LAKE CITY -- Wayne, a GE Business, announced it is working with Isis to perform mobile payment transactions at Maverik Inc. convenience stores. Wayne will retrofit existing dispensers and supply new dispensers with integrated support for the Isis mobile wallet at 55 Maverik locations by the end of this month.

Maverik has been testing the Isis mobile wallet for well over a year, but today's announcement marks a full-fledged retrofitting of fuel dispensers specifically designed to accept such transactions.

The Salt Lake City-based convenience store chain will implement the Wayne TAP NFC/Contactless reader used with the Wayne iX Pay secure payment solution. Isis customers can simply tap their Isis-enabled smartphone to make a payment.

According to Austin, Texas-based Wayne, Maverik pay-at-the-pump customers will also be able to automatically apply loyalty card benefits to their transactions in the future.

In addition to accepting Isis mobile payments, the new fuel dispensers will be Europay, MasterCard and Visa (otherwise known as chip-and-PIN and chip-and-signature card) compliant.

Isis is a joint venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA Inc. and Verizon Wireless.

Maverik operates more than 250 c-stores in 10 western states.
