WAWA, Pa. -- Wawa Inc., which operates 545 convenience stores in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, has selected Business Objects, a provider of business intelligence solutions, to help assist in delivering strategic information within the company's real estate division. Wawa will use Business Objects' Crystal Enterprise software to manage and distribute data on site selection for future stores, budget planning, and property management.
The new software allows Wawa to standardize the reporting tool within its real estate department; The company will use Crystal Enterprise to build reports in both the property-management and job-costing systems within the real estate division. Managers within the division will gain up-to-date information on such items as leases, financing and remodeling costs.
"We chose Crystal Enterprise as our reporting solution because it is very user-friendly, and allows our employees to gather information themselves and then use that information immediately to help the business grow," said Michael McCabe, real estate technology manager for Wawa. "At Wawa, we are involved with all aspects of new store development, starting with the identification of a market and through the construction phase of a new store. We feel Business Objects gives us the reporting tools we need to support the real estate division at the highest possible level."
