Wawa Opens New Prototype Store in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Wawa is opening its first Baltimore store and celebrating with a grand opening ceremony this Wednesday, according to an ABC2News.com report. The store features Wawa's new design prototype, the first in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The opening festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a charity hoagie-building contest between the Baltimore City Police and Fire Department. Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will speak about Wawa's economic contributions to the community and take part in the presentation of a check to Johns Hopkins Children's Center to reflect the convenience store chain's commitment to children's health.

The new store, the 40th to be built in Maryland, will offer in-store bake-off and full-service specialty beverages. Doors open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
