WAWA, Pa. -- Wawa Inc.'s search for a new advertising agency is down to three firms, according to a consultant representing the convenience store chain.
The three agencies that made it to the final round are Eisner Communications, Baltimore; MARC USA, Pittsburgh; and The Richards Group, with offices in Dallas and New York, according to consultant Russel Wohlwerth, principal of SelectResources International in West Hollywood, Calif, as reported in American City Business Journals Inc.
A final decision is expected by mid-January, said Wohlwerth, who is leading Wawa's search.
Gyro Worldwide in Philadelphia was among six agencies eliminated.
Wawa's previous agency had been King of Prussia, Pa.-based Ritter Inc.
Wawa, which has more than 500 stores and is based in Wawa, Pa., spent between $5 million and $7 million on advertising last year, according to industry estimates.
