Wawa Celebrates Milestones at Two New Jersey Stores

MAYS LANDING and VENTNOR, N.J. – Wawa Inc. recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Mays Landing store and the 35th anniversary of its Ventnor store.

Family-reunion style reunions took place at both stores to thank customers and store employees. Wawa, the operator of 580 stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, provided free coffee throughout the celebrations and also donated $168,057 to the Children's Miracle Network.

"At Wawa, we have an incredible bond with our associates and customers that feels like family, and I am often blown away that this connection spans generations," Howard Stoeckel, Wawa's president and CEO, told Shore News Today. "In fact, in some cases, we have four generations of the same family that frequent our stores each and every day. This year's 'Wawaversaries' are our way of saying 'thank you' to our extended family and recognizing the special associates and customers who are such an important part of the community."

Wawa has been celebrating a lot of anniversaries all year. During 2011, the convenience store chain is honor anniversaries at 56 of its stores. Being celebrated are several 25-, 30-, 35-, 40- and 45-year anniversaries.
