Wawa Celebrates 40th in Bala Cynwyd

BALA CYNWYD, Pa. -- Wawa celebrated 40 years of business at its Belmont Avenue store here this week, and as part of the event, customers were treated to free coffee all day, Main Line Media News reported.

As part of the festivities, Wawa's Wally the Goose and store staff performed the chicken dance, while customers of honor received keys to the convenience store from Wawa Chief Operating Officer David Johnston. Johnston estimated the Belmont Ave. store served more than 21 million customers during its 40 years in business, according to the report.

In addition, Wawa also presented a check for more than $154,000 to the Children's Miracle Network, which will donate part of the funds to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
