VIDEO: SUNY Students Helping Stewart's Shops Go Green

GREENFIELD CENTER, N.Y. -- Stewart's Shops is teaming up with local college students here in an effort to go green and improve the company's sustainability.

The convenience store retailer recently led students from State University of New York-Albany's School of Business on a tour of its facilities to teach them how the business works, from serving customers in the shop to using energy to keep its 200,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility running.

For their assignment called "G3: Going Green Globally," the students will study Stewart's Shops' vertical integration and present ways the company can be more sustainable while reducing costs by $100,000.
