SPRINGDALE, Ark. – The Convenience Store News 2013 Foodservice Summit, held recently at the Tyson Discovery Center in northwest Arkansas, brought together top thought leaders in convenience foodservice for group discussions and presentations on the key areas of importance in selling prepared food in the channel.
Sponsored by Tyson Foods, this year’s Foodservice Summit explored such topics as how retailers evaluate foodservice innovation, develop new products and generate increased sales by daypart. Participating retailers were also provided individual research and insights on their convenience foodservice shopper; a review of the supply and demand outlook for proteins by Tyson Foods Chief Operating Officer Jim Lochner; and firsthand feedback from convenience foodservice consumers via a live focus group.

Retailer participants included foodservice executives from Kwik Trip Inc., 7-Eleven Inc., Thorntons Inc., Speedway LLC, Kum & Go LC, Country Fair Stores, RaceTrac Petroleum Inc., Rutter’s Farm Stores and Holiday Stationstores.
