CHICAGO -- At last month's National Restaurant Association Show (NRA Show), Convenience Store News Editor-in-Chief Don Longo and Sheetz Inc.'s Executive Vice President and soon-to-be CEO Joe Sheetz discussed the future of convenience stores as it relates to fresh, prepared food.
Longo presented insights on the convenience store foodservice consumer revealed through CSNews’ 2013 Realities of the Aisle consumer study. Sheetz then continued the presentation with a retrospective on the beginnings of Altoona, Pa-based Sheetz Inc. as a business and how it's evolved into an extremely foodservice-focused chain that considers itself a "convenience restaurant" chain.
