Bridging the gap between chocolate and confections is Vertigo, a pop with a creamy milk chocolate layer and a hard candy layer. Three flavor combinations are available that were chosen by children ages eight to 15 during research and testing -- Chocolate/Caramel, Chocolate/Strawberry and Chocolate/Cookies and Cream. Although tested for a market of tweens and teens, the pops have broad appeal with adults as well, the company stated. Vertigo pops have 80 calories and contain no artificial sweeteners. The packages available include single count goods and 4-count bags in floor shippers and powerwings. A sampling program will be implemented, as well as a national TV ad campaign targeted to tweens and teens with a corresponding online component.
