VERC Becomes First Six-Time Winner of Best of Plymouth Award

DUXBURY, Mass. -- VERC Enterprises is the first company to become a six-time winner of the Best of Plymouth Award.

Awarded by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA), the Best of Plymouth Award recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. Award winners enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community, according to the USCA.

Duxbury, Mass.-based VERC Enterprises won the award six years in a row in the convenience store category. The 36-year-old independent c-store chain was specifically honored for its efforts in Plymouth, Mass., where it operates two stores.

"We’re honored to once again be the recipient of this award and are particularly proud to be designated as a six-time award winner," said Leo Vercollone, CEO of VERC Enterprises. "The USCA was established to recognize the best of local businesses in their communities; it means a great deal to us to be among those acknowledged."

VERC Enterprises is no stranger to winning awards. The chain, which employs more than 230 people, was recognized by the Boston Business Journal in 2011 as a Best Place to Work in Massachusetts and as a Leader in Diversity. It also received 2011 and 2012 Best Place to Work in Massachusetts honors from the Boston Globe.
