Valero's New Fountain Promo Offers Free Music, Movie Nights

SAN ANTONIO -- Valero Retail Holdings Inc.'s Corner Store locations will give free music or a free movie night to each customer that purchases a 44-ounce fountain drink this summer. The stores are prepared with more than three million codes that will allow consumers to pick either a movie or music.

If consumers choose to download the free MP3 from Billboard, Valero will give one of the codes to allow for the free download. The same procedure will be applied to the Redbox one-night DVD rental. The three brands are coming together to give consumers an entertaining summer, according to the retailer.

"The promotion is simple: go to Corner Store and buy a 44-ounce fountain drink, pull off the tab, go to www.CornerStore4U.com and click on the promotion, then enter the unique code found on your 44-ounce fountain cup," stated Hal Adams, vice president of retail merchandising at Valero. "We are building on the success of giving music away last year by adding the choice of music or movies. I think the hardest part will be deciding which one you want -- a music download or a movie night -- but that is part of the fun as consumers can come back all summer long while supplies last. Your choice is our treat."

Valero's Corner Stores partnered with Creative Link Studio Inc. to create the unique codes for the promotional cups. Consumers have until Aug. 30 to redeem their free gifts, or until all of the promotional cups are gone.
