SAN ANTONIO -- Major oil company Valero Energy Corp. officially began construction earlier this week on a new child care center at its corporate headquarters here, the San Antonio Business Journal reported.
The 28,400-square-foot center will have the capacity of serving 232 children and will be operated by Bright Horizons on behalf of the company, the report stated.
Children of Valero employees will be exclusively cared for at the facility as an employee benefit, according to the report. Valero spokesman Bill Day told the paper the company's commitment will be to not have a waiting list at the center.
The center is expected to open in January 2009.
