Valero, AGE Refining, Tesoro Win Defense Contracts
SAN ANTONIO -- Three refinery companies based here -- Valero Marketing & Supply Co., AGE Refining Inc. and Tesoro Refining and Marketing Co. -- have been awarded major contracts to supply fuel to the Department of Defense, the San Antonio Business Journal reported.
Valero Marketing & Supply Co., a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corp, was awarded a $540.3 million fuel contract with the Defense Energy Support Center in Fort Belvoir, Va., which coordinates all bulk fuel purchases for the United States military. The center is part of the Defense Logistics Agency.
AGE Refining Inc. was awarded a $186.7 million fuel contract with the Defense Energy Support Center. The company’s refinery is located in South Side San Antonio. Tesoro Refining and Marketing Co., a subsidiary of Tesoro Corp., was awarded a $104.3 million fuel contract. Each company will supply a range of petroleum products for the military between now and April 30, 2010, according to the report.
