JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Tobacco retailing is becoming more difficult to navigate as external factors pose new challenges every day. However, tobacco is one of the bread-and-butter categories for convenience store owners and despite outside forces, c-store owners need the tobacco category.
As a tool to help retailers manage the category successfully, Convenience Store News will present a webcast on June 12 at 2 p.m., titled "Putting Tobacco Growth Strategies Into Perspective." Presenters will include David Bishop, managing partner of Balvor LLC, and Joe Teller, director of category management at Swedish Match.
During the webcast, Bishop will share insights and perspectives from this year's exclusive Balvor/CSNews c-store retailer tobacco study. He will also discuss how convenience retailers are growing cigarette market share, leveraging the growth in other tobacco products (OTP) and responding to electronic cigarettes. Teller will offer effective strategies to drive OTP sales and profits.
