Universal Marketing Unloads 21 Gas Stations and C-stores

PORTLAND, Maine -- A bankruptcy sale of Universal Marketing Inc.'s 21 gas stations and convenience stores located in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Annapolis, Md., on Dec. 9 starting at 11 a.m.

Tranzon Auction Properties, along with its partners Tranzon Fox and Tranzon Alderfer, were engaged to market the sale of these stations, which are currently involved in a bankruptcy case filed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, according to the company.

"We will be offering these properties as individual lots and in combinations," Jeff Stein, vice president of Tranzon Fox and the primary point of contact for buyer questions on the sale, said in a statement. "This process allows for the greatest flexibility for buyers, and allows individuals as well as larger organizations to participate in the process."

Universal Marketing Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on July 23, 2009, with the case converted to Chapter 7 on Aug. 18, 2009. The order granted for the bankruptcy sale of the properties was issued on Oct. 27 of this year, according to public records.
