U.K.'s Tesco Express Putting Doors on Coolers to Save Energy

UNITED KINGDOM -- Tesco is fitting doors on all new refrigerators at stores in its Express convenience chain. In an exclusive new video, Global Convenience Store Focus reported why one of the world's leaders in environmental retail design has taken this step.

The U.K.-based newsletter reported the move is part of Tesco's adoption of new technologies for refrigeration and recognizes that refrigeration systems contribute 19 percent of the supermarket's total carbon footprint.
