SPRINGFIELD, Ark. -- Tyson Foods and St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch Inc. are joining forces for a March basketball tournament promotion, rolling out to thousands of retailers nationwide from March 5 to April 13. The promotion will offer savings on Tyson Wings or Boneless Wings from the deli and Bud Light beer, billing them as a "Great Double Team" for basketball-tournament viewing parties.
Savings include $1 off 2 pounds or more of Tyson Wings or Boneless Wings only, or, where permitted by law, $2 off 2 pounds of Tyson Wings or Boneless Wings and Bud Light beer purchased together. Bud Light will also co-promote Tyson Wings and Boneless Wings in the beer aisle with signage and coupons, where possible. Tyson has developed such merchandising materials as counter cards, posters and door clings, as well as appropriate coupon tear pads for each state.
"Promotions such as this are a slam-dunk for retailers," said Eric LeBlanc, senior director of Tyson Deli Marketing in Springdale, Ark. "They can expect to see incremental sales and lift of up to 200 percent during the promotional window."
Along with in-store activity, the promotion will be activated online. On Tyson's DeliAnytime.com site, members can download and print a bracket to track their teams throughout the tourney. Additionally, on the Facebook page, fans can play a free-throw game for the opportunity to score further savings from the deli.
