Two Tobacco Distributors Team Up For Improved Offerings

Moorpark, Calif. -- In an effort to become a "full service distributor," tobacco distributors Phillips & King and Crossline have joined to offer customers an array of products -- cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco and accessories -- and be the one-stop shop for retailers.

"Phillips & King and Crossline have been competitors as well as partners for a number of years, doing wholesale business across a wide range of products," said Hugh Cassar, chairman of Phillips & King. "The more we talked about joining forces, the better the idea of combining Crossline with P&K sounded to both of us."

The two distributors will keep their focus on competitive pricing, efficient ordering and same-day shipping. With the partnership, retailers can have access to more than 9,000 tobacco products in stock.

Online customers will be directed to the newly created Phillips & King Web site to track and place orders, receive exclusive online promotions and view the product catalog.

A central order fulfillment from the Phillips & King expanded warehouse in Moorpark, Calif. will continue to provide same-day order completion. Crossline's sales operations in Blaine, Wash. will be managed from Phillips & King's offices in Moorpark.

David Filipenko, President of Crossline said, "Creating a larger company to help today's progressive retailer better manage cash flow and provide everything their customer needs is the best service we can provide."
