CINCINNATI -- Turkey Hill Minit Markets convenience stores in Pennsylvania began a monthlong promotion called "Operation Hometown Hello," which will send donations to the 6,000 Pennsylvania National Guard troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, area television station WFMZ reported.
Customers can either buy or drop off items in boxes located at Turkey Hill c-stores throughout the state, and the donations will be shipped to the troops. Operation Hometown Hello will continue through July, according to the report.
Signage on the boxes at the stores suggest items including meat snacks, candy, magazines, packaged snacks, pens and pencils, health and beauty care products, and more.
