TravelCenters Launches Operation Refresh

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America (TA), operator of travel centers in 44 states and Canada, launched a revitalization campaign called Operation Refresh, which will spend $125 million for capital improvements, the company stated.

"Operation Refresh reflects TA's dedication to providing our customers with the best maintained facilities in our industry," Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TA, said in a statement. "Well-maintained, large, convenient facilities, the widest assortment of amenities and services available and welcoming, friendly employees will allow TA to set a new standard in interstate travel hospitality for our customers."

The program, with the goal of enhancing customers' experience at its locations in the U.S., calls for more than 800 individual renovations. As part of Operation Refresh, facilities will see new modern showers, marble-tiled restrooms, expanded and upgraded parking lots, restaurant renovations, system upgrades, exterior painting and lighting enhancements, according to the company.

Operation Refresh is began in May 2007 and is expected to be mostly completed by the end of 2008, the company stated.
