TravelCenters of America Upgrades Comfort

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC is taking strides to make professional drivers more comfortable on the road. The locally headquartered company is upgrading all of its driver lounges with a 55-inch, or larger, flat screen LCD HDTV. The new feature is popping up at all TA and Petro locations.

Additional renovations include new La-Z-Boy theater seating and carpet at several locations, the company added. "As full-service leaders, we want professional drivers to have a home away from home feeling when they visit us," explained Tom O’Brien, president and chief executive officer. "These new amenities in our driver lounges and movie rooms are another example of the care we have for these hardworking professionals who choose us over other companies that only want them to fuel and move on. Our goal everyday is to make that driver feel welcomed and respected."

All driver lounge updates are slated to be completed by the end of the month. In another major change, all driver lounges and theaters are now nonsmoking to follow along with TravelCenters of America’s StayFit program . The health and wellness initiative was introduced in December and officially launched with the New Year, as CSNews Online previously reported. TravelCenters of America added that smoking is still allowed -- where it is legal -- inside game rooms.
