TravelCenters of America Debuts New In-Store Features

DIRECTV's NFL Sunday Ticket and special game viewings are now available for football fans.

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of TA and Petro Stopping Center travel centers, is offering a number of new services and features for professional drivers.

DIRECTV is now available at nearly 200 TA and Petro locations, allowing customers to enjoy NFL Sunday Ticket, which shows all Sunday football games simultaneously. TA and Petro full-service restaurants will offer game-day menu specials at select locations and provide a food order and delivery service to the driver's lounge so that drivers can relax and enjoy the games as if they were at home.

Select restaurant locations will also host game viewings in their back rooms on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays, and offer full menu service during the games. Additionally, the company's travel center stores will offer specials on items such as hot dogs, nachos and popcorn during select times on these days to coincide with game viewings.

"We respect drivers for the jobs they do -- spending long days on the road and weekends away from home," said TravelCenters President and CEO Tom O'Brien. "We want drivers to feel at home on the road when they come to TA and Petro locations. Providing them with the DIRECTV service with NFL games and movies is one more way in which we can give them some of the comforts of home."

Drivers can find TA and Petro locations with DIRECTV by using the TruckSmart mobile app or going to the chains' websites at www.tatravelcenters.com and www.petrotruckstops.com.

In other related company news, TravelCenters opened two new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants. The TA Holbrook, located at exit 283 off Interstate 40 in Holbrook, Ariz., and the Petro Bucksville, located at exit 100 off I-20/I-59 in Bucksville, Ala., now serve Popeyes' full menu, which includes chicken and shrimp meals and sandwiches, plus signature side dishes, sauces and desserts.

The addition of Popeyes complements existing quick-service deli meal options at TA Holbrook, and a full-service Iron Skillet restaurant at Petro Bucksville.

Also in the food arena, TravelCenters is asking customers to nominate their favorite restaurant employees in the Best Server/Cashier & Cook contest. Customers can nominate their favorite TA and Petro employees through Oct. 15 by completing the nomination form at www.ta-petro.com/thebest

Once all nominations are received, the top 10 servers/cashiers and cooks will be posted, and customers will be able to cast a ballot for Best Server/Cashier and Best Cook at the same website from Nov. 1 to Nov. 15. Winners will be announced in December.

"Our restaurant teams go above and beyond every day to ensure meals are served to order and guests feel respected and welcomed," said John Ponczoch, senior vice president of food operations for TravelCenters. "Many of our customers have asked how their favorite servers and cooks can be given special recognition."

TravelCenters of America operates 247 TA and Petro Stopping Center locations in 42 states and Canada.
