PrintTravelCenters of America Hosting Driver Celebration

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- To celebrate its opening of the center, TravelCenters of America (TA) is holding a driver celebration event today and tomorrow at its new Carl's Corner, Texas, Petro full-service travel center. Located at Exit 374 off Interstate 35 at 101 Cornelius Rd. North, the site was previously known as "Willie's Place" and reopened as a Petro travel center in late April, according to the company.

The event kicked off today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m., attended by Carl's Corner Mayor Carl Cornelius along with several City Council members. The festivities will also include a WBAP Midnight Trucking Radio live broadcast with Eric Harley overnight from midnight to 2 a.m., and music by Texas recording artist Teri Hart from 6 to 9 p.m. on both days.

Random prize drawings and driver appreciation specials will continue throughout both days, according to the announcement.

TA is inviting non-professional drivers traveling along I-35 to stop and visit the travel center, too. The Petro location features a 2,600-square-foot travel store, Iron Skillet restaurant and lounge with a 55-inch high-definition television and leather La-Z-Boy seats.
